The up to 30% stronger ARP products keeps higher loads and pressures while. The tensile strength is about 1400 N/mm². By comparison, a standard 10.9 screw only has a tensile strength of 900 N/mm².
With ARP bolts / studs also extremely high boost pressure without problems in terms of fitting the cylinder head can be driven with the block. The grapes / studs are made of 8740 chrome-molybdenum steel, and have rounded thread.
ARP Cylinder Head Torque Specifications (M42)
The studs should be tightened in three even steps in the sequence specified by the manufacturer:
Step 1: 25 ft-lbs
Step 2: 50 ft-lbs
Step 3: 70 ft-lbs
Important notes for assembly:
Lubricant: Use ARP Ultra-Torque assembly paste on the threads and washers to ensure accurate clamping forces.
Sequence: Use the classic crisscross sequence from the center outwards (OEM sequence).
Studs in the block: The studs themselves are only screwed into the engine block by hand.
